Idu Ogengen Beckons. Are You Ready?

Beloved fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters,

I bring you greetings from the President of the Ogori Descendants Union, Dr. Gabriel O. Aiso, and the entire EXCO of the ODU. Ametesoma?

Ogori is a beautiful land with many festivals, each uniquely beautiful and special. As the echoes of the hugely successful Ovia Osese Festival continue to reverberate throughout our country and the Diaspora, we prepare to celebrate the New Yam Festival which we all call Idu Ogengen and as always, we are here to give it the publicity, awareness and prominence such a festival deserves.

The profundity of Harvest embodied in the celebration of the New Yam is an acknowledgement of the miracle of multiplication, of the recognition of the miracle that happens beneath our feet, and the spiritual essence of Land in the existence of humanity.

These areas of reflection are what all our creative contents shall be centered on – be they graphics, photos, videos, or text all encapsulated in the thematic direction: LAND: HONOURING THE SOURCE, CELEBRATING THE HARVEST.

We encourage all Ogorians to join us as we countdown with the Osiako Idu of Ogoriland towards Idu. May this herald a period of plenty for us and our community.
